I generate ideas by being in a landscape. I am drawn to wild, expansive scenery be it moors and fells or rugged coastline. Colour is almost always the primary draw and the drive is to capture the feelings aroused in response to the scenery. Thoughts and ideas are explored through sketchbook work and sampling. Stitch and palette become the vocabulary to articulate my emotional response.
